Fatal Traffic Collision Snarls Morning Traffic In Riverside

FATAL TRAFFIC COLLISION
RIVERSIDE, CA – On Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at approximately 6:09 AM, the City of Riverside’s Public Safety Communications Center received calls of a traffic collision between two vehicles at the intersection of Martin Luther King Boulevard and Chicago Avenue. The preliminary investigation revealed a black Kia Optima, occupied by a 29-year-old Riverside resident and a 26-year-old Riverside resident, was driving eastbound on Martin Luther King Boulevard. A black Nissan Versa, occupied by a 63-year-old Riverside resident and a 27-year-old Moreno Valley resident, was driving northbound on Chicago Avenue. The vehicles collided in the intersection resulting in serious injuries to the occupants of both vehicles. The 27-year-old Moreno Valley resident later succumbed to his injuries.
The identity of the deceased is pending the Coroner’s investigation. The Riverside Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team responded and is currently investigating.
