Fatal Shooting in Long Beach Leads to Police Pursuit

- A man was shot in the head and killed in a possible car shooting Sunday night. There is an ongoing search for the suspect who led police on a vehicle pursuit near Long Beach City College.
- The call initially came in of a female on 911 hysterical, stating that someone was shot in the head.
- Arriving on the scene, they confirmed one person had been shot in the head, was not conscious, not breathing, and possibly sitting in a BMW sedan.
- Long Beach FD Paramedics transported the victim to a nearby hospital, where it is believed the victim was pronounced deceased.
- Around 12:34 AM, Long Beach Police spotted a suspect vehicle involved in the shooting driving through the area and attempted a stop on the vehicle
- The suspect yielded briefly before taking off from police, leading police on a short pursuit before ditching the car near LBCC
- Police immediately established a perimeter around the college area and called in SWAT to assist. Police did report hearing two gunshots within the perimeter at one point.
- Police are calling this suspect a murder suspect who is tied to the incident in Gaviota.
