Fatal Multi-Vehicle Collision in Jurupa Valley

INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 4-6-24, 7:09 a.m.
LOCATION: Sr60 E Eo / Valley Wy
AREA/CITY: Jurupa Valley
DETAILS:

  1. California Highway Patrol, Riverside and Cal Fire, Riverside County, Jurupa Valley responded to a multi-car traffic collision.
  2. When units arrived, they found three vehicles, a Toyota Matrix, a Scion, and a Chevy Silverado, all but the Chevy with major damage and one person trapped.
  3. The person was extricated and pronounced deceased by firefighter paramedics.
  4. Three people were transported to a local area hospital suffering from minor to moderate injuries.
  5. CHP has one occupant of one of the vehicles performing field sobriety tests, but it is unknown if he was taken into custody (On video, you can see officers with him).
  6. At this time, CHP is holding the scene as a crime scene.
  7. There was a SIG Alert issues for several hours after the crash.
  8. CHP finally closed their incident just before 11 a.m.
