Fatal Motorcycle Vs Vehicle In Long Beach, CA

At approximately 9:01 p.m., officers responded to an injury traffic collision on 11th Street and Redondo Avenue between a motorcycle and a vehicle.

When officers arrived, Long Beach Fire Department personnel were providing medical aid to the motorcyclist; however, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The preliminary investigation indicates a 2010 KTM motorcycle was traveling southbound on Redondo Avenue when it collided with a 2006 Toyota Sequoia traveling eastbound on 11th Street as it crossed Redondo Avenue.

At this time, impaired driving is being investigated as a possible factor in the collision.

The driver of the Sequoia remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation. He was identified as Frank Andrade Jr., a 33-year-old resident of Long Beach. He was arrested and booked for driving under the influence and vehicular manslaughter. Bail was set at $101,781.

The decedent was identified as Roberto Barraza, a 37-year-old resident of Long Beach.

  2. Motorcycle traveling South on redondo struck the drivers side of the vehicle
  3. Motorcyclist was declared deceased on the scene by LBFD
  4. Driver of the other vehicle was transported to the hospital in unknown condition
  5. it is unknown if speed was a factor in the incident
  6. Long Beach PD will have Redondo and 11th shut down in all directions pending investigation
