Fatal, Motorcycle vs. Pole Near City Park

- MENIFEE – A Harley Davidson motorcycle rider who died after he crashed into a light pole in Menifee was identified Sunday as a 28-year-old resident of the city.
- Sean Weaver died at 9:13 p.m. Saturday on Menifee Road, north of Bayport Lane. Weaver struck a curb and lost control and was found by officers and paramedics on the shoulder of the road, according to the Menifee Police Department.
- According to the Riverside County Fire Department, the Harley Davidson caught on fire, which spread to some nearby vegetation, but the fire was contained at 9:24 p.m.
- Public Works personnel were called to the scene to asses the damage to the light pole.
- The cause of the collision and the speed of the motorcycle was still under investigation.
- Anyone with information about the accident was asked to contact the Menifee Police Department Traffic Unit
