Fatal I-405 Box Truck Crash | Long Beach

01.14.2022 | 9:59 PM | LONG BEACH – Authorities responded to reports of a fiery box truck crash with multiple people trapped in the burning truck. Bystanders reported one person climbed out of the burning box truck. First responders arrived and located a box truck fully engulfed. At least one person was transported to a local area trauma center for unknown injuries. One person was pronounced deceased at the scene, and CHP officers could be seen placing body sheets on the box truck. The northbound lanes of the I-405 was fully closed for approximately 45 minutes as the fire was extinguished. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
