Fatal House Fire Under Investigation In Riverside

At approximately 4:13 p.m. on May 29, 2026, Riverside firefighters responded to a residential structure fire in the 4200 block of Goodman Street after reports indicated possible occupants trapped inside.

Arriving crews encountered heavy smoke and flames coming from the home and immediately began an aggressive fire attack while searching for victims.

Additional ambulance units were requested as firefighters worked to rescue those inside.

According to Riverside Fire officials, one person was confirmed deceased at the scene.

Two additional patients were transported to local hospitals. Their conditions have not been released.

Video from the scene showed arson investigators and law enforcement personnel, including officers wearing bomb technician insignia, assisting with the investigation.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
