Fatal Deputy Involved Shooting

INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 9-27-24 1:20 pm approx
LOCATION: Mile of Cars & Hoover Ave
AREA/CITY: National City
DETAILS:

1. Uniformed and Undercover Deputies pull over a white Acura with at least three people inside.
2. When the suspect stopped, someone ran from the vehicle with deputies in pursuit.
3. At some point, shots were fired.
4. We’ve been told that the suspect did have a gun
5. A Deputy was injured by glass shrapnel to a hand when a bullet hit some vehicle glass
6. The Deputy was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
7. The suspect is deceased.
8. The other two people were taken into custody.
9. SDPD Homicide will be handling the investigation.
