Fatal Crash Ignites 13 Acre Frazier Fire
INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 10-2-24 | 9:38 p.m.
LOCATION: Ralphs Ranch Rd & Gorman School Rd
AREA/CITY: Gorman
DETAILS:
- LACoFD responded to a report of a brush fire
- Crews arrived to find 1/4 acre of brush in medium to heavy brush
- Crews ordered additional aircraft to the fire
- The fire began to run into heavier brush and began running with the terrain
- CHP advised firefighters that there may have been a vehicle that went off the side of the South 5 and crashed
- There may have been a body in the vehicle
- Crews extinguished the flames and located a sedan with a deceased victim
- The victim was found under the dash in the floorboards
- Age & gender are unknown
- It appears the fire was ignited as a result of the crash
- CHP & LASD are on scene investigating
- The fire has been stopped at 13 acres & it took an hour and 20 minutes
- This is the Frazier Fire
