Fatal Crash Ignites 13 Acre Frazier Fire

INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 10-2-24 | 9:38 p.m.
LOCATION: Ralphs Ranch Rd & Gorman School Rd
AREA/CITY: Gorman
DETAILS:

  1. LACoFD responded to a report of a brush fire
  2. Crews arrived to find 1/4 acre of brush in medium to heavy brush
  3. Crews ordered additional aircraft to the fire
  4. The fire began to run into heavier brush and began running with the terrain
  5. CHP advised firefighters that there may have been a vehicle that went off the side of the South 5 and crashed
  6. There may have been a body in the vehicle
  7. Crews extinguished the flames and located a sedan with a deceased victim
  8. The victim was found under the dash in the floorboards
  9. Age & gender are unknown
  10. It appears the fire was ignited as a result of the crash
  11. CHP & LASD are on scene investigating
  12. The fire has been stopped at 13 acres & it took an hour and 20 minutes
  13. This is the Frazier Fire
