Fatal Collision in Moorpark Claims One Life

LOCATION: Los Angeles Avenue and Balcom Canyon Rd

DETAILS:
- A white work van collided head on with a white Toyota highlander just west of the above address
- Both vehicles sustained major damage and 5 people were reported to be injured, one of whom was trapped in their vehicle requiring extrication
- Firefighters arrived and discovered 1 person, the person trapped, deceased
- that person was only identified as the driver of the white highlander
- One person was transported to a local hospital with unknown injuries and several others were seen sitting on the guardrail with triage tags around their necks
- CHP Moorpark Division is investigating the cause of the collision
