Fatal Car Accident

- Around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday evening, Phoenix Police and Fire responded to a motor vehicle accident that occurred near the intersection of 74th Ave and Thomas Road.
- The collision involved a dark color sedan and a white pickup truck, both with heavy damage.
- It is unknown how many people were injured in the collision, however at least one person was pronounced deceased at the scene.
- Both directions of Thomas Road were closed from 74th Ave to 71st Lane for several hours.
- Phoenix Police’s vehicle crimes units arrived on scene and began documenting and investigating the collision.
- After officers had concluded their investigation, members from the Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s Office arrived on scene to remove the deceased victim with the help of Phoenix Fire personnel.
- Thomas Road was reopened at approximately 12:15 a.m.
