Fans Celebrate And Mourn After FIFA Fan Fest In Houston
As the FIFA Fan Fest wrapped up around 11:00 p.m. on June 14, 2026, thousands of soccer fans streamed out of Shell Energy Stadium in downtown Houston following a day of international match viewing and festivities.
The atmosphere outside the venue was a mix of celebration and disappointment, with supporters of winning teams cheering while others reflected on tough losses. Swedish fans could be seen celebrating victories, while several attendees said they had come specifically to watch Japan compete.
Many fans told us they plan to return for future matches and events as excitement surrounding the tournament continues to grow.
Security remained highly visible throughout the evening, with Houston Police officers, SWAT personnel, and an armored BearCat vehicle stationed around the venue to help maintain public safety.
Outside the stadium, numerous food vendors lined the streets serving fans as they exited. Hot dog stands proved especially popular, with many attendees grabbing what some jokingly referred to as “glizzies” before heading home.
Despite the large crowds, the event concluded without any major incidents reported.
