Family Member Stabs 16yr Old Son, After Attempting To Stab Mother

INCIDENT DATE/TIME: Sunday 4/28/24 at 8:57pm
LOCATION: 5000 Block of Gundry Ave
AREA/CITY: Long Beach, CA
DETAILS:

1. LBPD arrived to a residence of a man who was involved in a family dispute with a mother inside the residence.
2. During the dispute, the older male suspect tried stabbing the mother which a 16 yr old son protected the mom and got stabbed in the hand instead.
3. The suspect was taken into custody and taken to a local hospital. Stomach wounds were visible.
4. Many residents came out to watch as this is a rare incident in their neighborhood.
