Extended Extrication After DUI Driver Slams Into Pole

INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 8-15-24, 8p.m.
LOCATION: Vermont Ave and Harbor Blvd.
AREA/CITY: Anaheim
DETAILS:

1. Anaheim Police Department and Anaheim Fire and Rescue responded to a reported single vehicle traffic collision.
2. When they arrived, they found a car that had slammed head on into a utility pole.
3. The driver was able to self extricate from the vehicles.
4. The passenger was trapped inside the vehicle and was extricated.  Extrication took around 18s.
5. DUI and speed are both a factor in the collision.
6. In the video you can see cans of Modelo at the scene.
7. Police have the area shut down while they investigate the collision.
