Exposition Park: Fight Escalates Into Stabbing

11.05.2018 | 9:00 PM | LOS ANGELES – A man was hospitalized and another was detained after a fight escalated near a McDonald’s restaurant, Monday night.

Police responded to a reported fight in the Exposition Park area near a McDonald’s in the 2200 block of West Martin Luther King Boulevard around 9:00 PM.

Officers arriving on scene found a a man suffering from apparent stab wounds and requested paramedics. Another man, the reported suspect, was detained.

Firefighter paramedics treated the victim on scene before transporting him to an area hospital in unknown condition.

Initial reports indicated a fight escalated with one man drawing a sharp object and stabbing the other. A pipe was reportedly involved in the incident and recovered at the scene.

The detained suspect was transported by police for questioning.

The Los Angeles Police Department’s Southwest Division is investigating.
