Escondido: Pursuit Of DUI Driver From L.A. to San Diego

01.01.2019 | 4:00 AM | ESCONDIDO – A suspected DUI driver was under arrest after a pursuit that spanned from Los Angeles to San Diego, New Years morning.

Officers attempted to stop a suspected DUI driver in the Santa Fe Springs area of Los Angeles around 1:30 AM.

The driver of the vehicle refused to stop prompting a high-speed pursuit that lasted for nearly three hours.

Police chased the driver across multiple freeways before a flat tire disabled the suspect’s vehicle on eastbound lanes of the SR-60 in Escondido.

A high-risk traffic stop was initiated and the suspect was placed into custody without further incident.

No injuries were reported.
