Escondido: Deputy-Involved Crash Injures Three

06.21.2020 | 1:27 AM | ESCONDIDO – A deputy and two others suffered minor injuries after being involved in a traffic collision, early Sunday morning.

Authorities responded to reports of a traffic collision involving a deputy in an unmarked police vehicle on Broadway near the westbound SR-78 Freeway on ramp around 1:27 AM.

Units arriving on scene located a grey Ford Taurus occupied by a sheriff’s deputy had collided with a white Ford Fiesta occupied by two civilians.

Firefighter paramedics treated all three victims from the crash on scene and transported them to area hospitals in unknown condition.

The female sheriff deputy did not appear seriously injured.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
