ER Nurse Seriously Injured After Being Struck By Hit & Run Driver

DETAILS:

1. A female emergency room nurse was walking home after working all night at a Chula Vista Hospital.
2. She parked her car and was hit while in the crosswalk at Columbia St & Hawthorn St.
3. She hit her head on the street and was able to get up and walk to an apartment complex on Columbia St.
4. The driver left the scene without stopping.
5. The staff called 911 for the injured woman.
6. Firefighters and officers arrived and started to question her.
7. She has a head injury and does not remember anything that occurred.
8. She was taken to a local hospital.
9. The incident was thought to have happened at the intersection of Columbia St & Grape St., but the woman’s boyfriend told the officers that she usually parks her vehicle on Hawthorne St.
10. The officers found her vehicle, and then upon further investigation, they found the woman’s glasses smashed in the street on Columbia St & Hawthorn St.
11. Her current status is unknown.
