Encinitas: Suspected Arson Fire Threatens Homes

08.05.2020 | 2:05 AM | ENCINITAS – A suspected arson fire threatened several homes but no serious damage was immediately reported, early Thursday morning.

Authorities responded to reports of a brush fire burning along a cliff in the 1200 block of South Coast Highway around 2:04 AM.

Units arriving on scene located the fire burning down a cliff and threatening homes.

Firefighters used deck guns to battle the blaze and protect nearby properties.

The cause of the fire is believed to have been set intentionally.

One person was being interviewed by arson investigators.
