Encinitas: Nursing Home Forced To Evacuate After Mudslide

04.10.2020 | 4:57 PM | ENCINITAS – A nursing home with about 24 patients had to be evacuated after a mudslide caused damage, Friday evening.

Authorities responded to reports of a mudslide at the Encinitas Nursing & Rehabilitation Center located in the 900 block of Santa Fe Drive around 4:57 PM.

Units arriving on scene located a large amount of mud and other debris that had become dislodged by recent rains and flooded the nursing home causing it to be uninhabitable.

Firefighters mitigated hazards on scene and were working with staff to relocate about 24 patients from the nursing home.

No injuries were reported.
