Emotional Scene After Dog Killed In San Bernardino Crash

At approximately 8:54 p.m. on May 22, 2026, emergency crews responded to a two-vehicle collision near West Rialto Avenue and South Rancho Avenue in San Bernardino.

Responding units located both vehicles blocking the intersection as firefighters and paramedics assisted those involved in the crash.

During the investigation, authorities discovered a dog had died as a result of the collision.

One female occupant from the vehicle carrying the dog was transported to a hospital with unknown injuries.

Investigators say one of the male drivers became uncooperative with officers and was taken into custody after a brief struggle at the scene.

Family members of the deceased dog later arrived and became emotional while speaking with officers.
