Elderly Man Shot After Argument With Teens In Baytown

A man was airlifted to the hospital after being shot Wednesday night during an apparent confrontation at a park in Baytown, Texas.

At approximately 10:11 p.m. on August 5, 2026, emergency crews responded to the area of 1502 Nolan Road following reports of a shooting.

According to radio traffic, an adult male suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen and was transported by Life Flight to an area hospital. His reported Glasgow Coma Scale score was 14 out of 15 at the time of transport.

A neighbor told media at the scene that the victim, described as a man in his late 60s, had been barbecuing at the park when an argument began between him and two teenagers.

According to the neighbor, the confrontation escalated and the man was shot. The two teenage suspects reportedly fled and were still being sought by police.

Those circumstances have not been independently confirmed by police. No official statement was obtained at the scene after property management asked media to leave.

The investigation remains ongoing.
