Elderly Man Dies After Redlands House Fire
At approximately 5:30 p.m. on May 10, 2026, firefighters responded to reports of a house fire on Wabash Avenue in Redlands.
When crews arrived, they located a 76 year-old man in the driveway suffering from significant burn injuries. Firefighters immediately began treatment before transporting him to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
Crews brought the initial fire under control within approximately 20 minutes and remained on scene for several hours before clearing the incident Sunday evening.
Nearly two hours later, firefighters were called back to the same residence after multiple reports that the home had caught fire again.
Responding crews found the structure heavily involved with flames through the roof and worked quickly to knock down the second fire.
Firefighters remained at the scene into the early morning hours as investigators worked to determine the cause of the deadly blaze and re-burn.
