Elderly Couple Dead After Running Red Light And Crashing | Chula Vista

10.04.2022 | 9:52 AM | CHULA VISTA – Eye-witnesses told the Police that the elderly couple was speeding up the HOV ramp from the southbound I-805 up to E. Palomar St.

The driver went through the “Red” light and into the bridge’s wall.

The couple died instantly.

The bridge’s cement wall is cracked.

The CVPD Traffic Division is investigating.

We pointed out to the officers that the vehicle must have just been in some type of mechanics shop as there were paper floormats in the front passenger compartment of the vehicle. these are used by the shop so that grease and oil do not get stained in the cars.

Eastbound Palomar St has been closed at Nacion Ave for close to 6 hours.
