El Monte: Armed Suspect Leads Police On High-Speed Pursuit

12.30.2019 | 10:55 PM | EL MONTE – An armed suspect who led officers on a high-speed pursuit that started in Hesperia was taken into custody after crashing, Monday night.

Deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Hesperia Station were in pursuit of a reportedly stolen Nissan sedan shortly before 11:00 PM.

The grey sedan fled from deputies at a high-rate of speed before losing control and crashing on the Peck Road South off ramp from the westbound I-10 Freeway.

Officers surrounded the vehicle and quickly apprehended to the solo male driver.

A handgun was also recovered from the vehicle.
