East Whittier: Suspects Flee After Crashing Stolen Vehicle (Caught On Camera)
04.20.2020 | 2:38 PM | EAST WHITTIER – Two car thieves fled on foot after crashing a stolen Jeep at the end of a cul-de-sac, Monday afternoon.
Deputies responded to reports that a man was following his neighbor’s white Jeep Wrangler that had just been stolen from a residence in the unincorporated area of East Whittier around 2:30 PM.
While responding to the scene units were informed that the vehicle vehicle being followed had crashed at the end of a cul-de-sac in the 15100 block of Midcrest Drive.
Once on scene deputies learned that two suspects were caught on camera fleeing from the vehicle after it crashed at the end of a cul-de-sac.
Residents in the area chased after the suspects and law enforcement searched the area but the suspects appeared to have gotten away.
The Jeep Wrangler sustained damage to its axle and was unable to be driven away.
