East Hollywood: Pursuit Ends In Fatal Crash

LOCATION: Melrose And Commonwealth

DETAILS:

1. CHP Central Units attempted to pull over a vehicle for speeding. the vehicle.
2. The driver refused to yield, and the officers went into pursuit. The pursuit went north on the 101 and then exited Melrose. The driver continued east on Melrose till Commonwealth where the suspect crashed into a pickup truck.
3. One suspect fled on foot but was taken into custody a short distance away.
4. The male driver of the vehicle was trapped inside when officers approached they found the suspect unresponsive with a gun in his lap.
5. The officer secured the scene and LAFD paramedics arrived.
6. The suspect was pronounced deceased at the scene.
