Early-Morning Shooting Leaves Man Dead at 14th and Main in Riverside

UPDATE – 3 P.M. – ACCORDING TO RIVERSIDE POLICE DEPARTMENT PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICER, RYAN RAILSBACK, SUICIDE HAS BEEN RULED OUT AND THE SHOOTING IS BEING INVESTIGATED AS A HOMICIDE. THE VICTIM WAS A MALE IN HIS LATE 20’S AND FOUND SUFFERING FROM GUNSHOT WOUNDS.

Just after 5:00 a.m. this morning, officers responded to a report of a gunshot victim at Main Street and 14th Street in Downtown Riverside. Riverside Fire Department firefighter-paramedics also responded, and the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Detectives from our Robbery-Homicide Unit are currently on scene conducting an investigation. At this time, it has not yet been determined whether this incident is a homicide or a suicide.
