Two riders suffered major injuries after an e-bike and e-scooter collided with a vehicle Tuesday evening in Riverside.
At approximately 7:30 p.m. on August 25, 2026, Riverside Police responded to the intersection of Arlington and Mitchell avenues following reports of a traffic collision.
According to a Riverside Police Department public information officer, a vehicle was traveling westbound on Arlington Avenue while an e-bike rider and an e-scooter rider were traveling southbound on Mitchell Avenue when the collision occurred.
Both riders suffered major injuries and were transported to Riverside Community Hospital. CPR was reportedly in progress during their transport. Their current conditions and ages have not been released.
As of approximately 12:15 a.m., officers remained at the scene conducting an extensive investigation. Three motorcycles and one e-scooter could be seen within the scene, according to information from the location. Two young men were also being interviewed by officers, although their involvement had not been confirmed.
A large portion of the intersection remained closed, including Arlington Avenue between Sandy Lane and Stover Avenue and Mitchell Avenue at Arlington Avenue. Police expected the closures to remain in place for an extended period.
The circumstances leading up to the collision remain under investigation.
