DUI Driver Strikes And Kills Girl Stopped On Freeway Shoulder | Houston

10.24.2021 | 3:00 AM | HOUSTON – HPD and HFD responded to a 2 vehicle major crash, and 1 female was pronounced deceased. A male driving a white coupe struck a sedan on the right shoulder. The stopped vehicle had 3 occupants, all female, and the one in the back was sick. The driver pulled to the shoulder to check on her friend. The driver was out of the vehicle at the time of impact, and was sent flying by the crash, killing her. The male driver who struck the parked vehicle on the shoulder admitted to consuming alcohol, and a DWI investigation is pending. The sick female and the male offending driver were both transported to local trauma centers, and are believed to be in stable condition.
