DUI Driver Crashes Into LAPD Vehicle

DETAILS:
- A DUI driver driving North on Vermont Ave crashed into a LAPD vehicle. The suspect swerved and avoided a full rear-end crash and swiped the side of the patrol car.
- LAPD officers were in the location conducting a possible domestic violence incident.
- The suspect was acting erratically and not making sense.
- LAPD conducted a DUI sobriety test and arrested the driver. He was taken to the station to be booked.
- The family of the driver arrived at the scene, and the mother can be heard as they walked the suspect to the police car. The mother yelled at him, ” I told you I was going to pick you up.”
- Officers were walking to their cars when the patrol car was hit; luckily, no one was injured.
- Police departments all over California are out this weekend in full force to catch DUI drivers this Labor Day weekend.
