DUI Driver Crashes Into Fire Hydrant Causing Geyser

DETAILS:
- The male driver was heading eastbound on Montezuma Rd when he left the roadway and hit a fire hydrant.
- 2 Marines attempted to get the driver out of the car, but he refused.
- 1st responders were able to get the driver out of the car, as a large number of rocks, some the size of softballs. were flying from the water that was shooting into the air.
- Several of the car’s windows were broken, and the rocks were endangering the 1st Responders.
- It took the firefighters over 30 minutes to stop the waterflow.
- Eastbound Montezuma Rd is closed at Collwood Blvd and will be closed until a cleanup of the street can be done.
- The driver was “tested & Arrested” for DUI
