DUI Driver Causes Four Car Traffic Collision With Major Injuries
INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 6-8-24, 3:03 a.m.
LOCATION: I215 S No / Harley Knox Blvd
AREA/CITY: Perris/Mead Valley
DETAILS:
- California Highway Patrol, Riverside, and Cal Fire Riverside County responded to multiple reports of a car that had gone off the freeway and into the fence barrier between the freeway and the railroad tracks.
- According to CHP, two vehicles pulled over to help that driver.
- A fourth car was heading south on the freeway when it encountered the crash. It swerved to miss the initial crash, went around it, and slammed into one of the vehicles that initially stopped.
- That driver was trapped and had to be extricated and was transported by ground AMR to a local area hospital.
- A second person, who was in the truck that that car slammed into, was also transported, suffering from unknown injuries.
- According to CHP, the driver of the initial vehicle was found to be under the influence and was arrested on scene (Arrest In the video).
- No other injuries were reported, but the incident wildly shook several occupants, who stopped to render aid.
- Speed and alcohol were factors in the collision.
