DUI Arrest After Car Fire on I-10 in Colton
At approximately 2:46am on February 28th, 2026, California Highway Patrol officers, along with County Fire and Colton Fire crews, responded to a reported vehicle fire on the westbound 10 Freeway at the 215 interchange in Colton.
Upon arrival, units located a fully involved sedan on the right shoulder of the freeway. A male, female, and multiple children were outside of the vehicle when crews arrived. Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze.
The male driver was detained and arrested by CHP, possibly on suspicion of DUI, and was placed in the back of a patrol vehicle at the scene.
All lanes of traffic were temporarily stopped during the incident but were later reopened. The cause of the vehicle fire remained unknown.
No additional information was released. The investigation remained ongoing.
