Ducklings Rescued From Freeway By CHP
INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 2- 27-25, 8:52 a.m.
LOCATION: EB 91 and Mission Inn
AREA/CITY: Riverside
DETAILS:
- California Highway Patrol, Riverside Office, received reports of a mama duck and four to five baby ducklings on the freeway in the center divide.
- An officer was dispatched, and he and I were able to catch all of the ducklings and put them in a box. Animal control has been notified and is en route.
- Several people left their vehicles to assist in catching the ducks
- The mama duckling flew away, but it has been reported that the baby ducks were let go at Fairmount Park in Riverside.
- CHP closed the entire eastbound 91 freeway at Mission Inn for about 30 minutes while we caught the ducks.
