Driver Trapped After Rollover Crash on The 405 Freeway | Huntington Beach
10.16.2022 | 2:17 AM | HUNTINGTON BEACH –Units from the California Highway Patrol Westminster office and Huntington Beach Fire Department were dispatched to a rollover crash on the southbound I-405 freeway just south of Newland Street in Huntington Beach.
Arriving units found a black SUV on its roof with the driver trapped inside.
The SUV had collided with a temporary construction sign, crash attenuators, and a K-rail before it rolled over in the construction area.
The driver was extricated after approximately 15 minutes.
The patient was transported to a local hospital in unknown condition.
It’s unknown if intoxication, speed and or weather played a part in the incident, but the CHP is investigating.
The number 2,3, and 4 lanes will be closed for an extended period of time for the investigation and to push the K-rail out of lanes.
