Driver Trapped After Crashing Under Semi Trailer

LOCATION: 1698 S Alameda
AREA/CITY: Los Angeles
DETAILS:

1. LAFD responded to a physical rescue crash
2. Firefighters arrived to locate a vehicle under the trailer of a semi-truck
3. Crews determined there was a male in the driver’s seat who was trapped
4. The male was conscious & moving around in the car
5. Crews began to cut the roof off of the vehicle
6. LAFD Heavy Rescue 3 arrived and lifted the trailer off of the vehicle
7. Crews were then able to remove the roof & cut other debris off of the patient
8. Eventually, the patient was removed from the wreckage
9. Paramedics transported the male to an area hospital in critical condition
10. The cause of the crash is unknown at this time
11. The LAPD is handling the investigation
