Driver Requires CPR in 118 Freeway Crash

LOCATION: EB 118 at Rocky Peak

DETAILS:
- CHP received a report of a white honda sedan which had crossed all lanes of the EB 118 freeway just west of Rocky Peak.
- A good samaritan in a semi truck stopped and discovered the driver to be passed out behind the wheel.
- The driver was unconscious and not breathing, CPR was started and taken over by arriving paramedics.
- The man was revived at the scene and transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
- Traffic was severely impacted by the collision, CHP shut down the #3 and #4 lanes for over half an hour.
- CHP is investigating the cause of the collision.
