Driver Reportedly Falls Asleep Before Crashing in Vista

1. VISTA: At around 9:29 p.m., multiple reports came in of a crash in the 500 block of Poinsettia Avenue.When first responders arrived, they found several parked vehicles with major damage and one vehicle in a ditch. One person had already exited the vehicle and was transported to a hospital. A second occupant was trapped inside the mangled car and had to be extricated before also being transported.Preliminary information indicates the driver may have fallen asleep and went off the roadway, striking a tree and an embankment before crashing into three parked vehicles and coming to rest in the ditch.

   Both occupants sustained minor to moderate injuries. No additional information is available at this time.
