Driver Killed In Fiery Wreck | San Diego

10.24.2021 | 8:40 AM | SAN DIEGO – Firefighters responded to the report of a vegetation fire along the right shoulder and it was described as the size of a car. Upon arrival, it was found that it was a car fully engulfed in flames. The car had left the roadway for unknown reasons and hit a tree, causing the car to flip onto its side. The firefighters put out the fire which was also spreading into the vegetation and trees. A person was discovered inside the wreckage. It’s not known at this time if it’s a male or a female. It’s also not known if the person died from the collision or the resulting fire. The #4 lane of the I-5 south is closed pending the arrival of the County Medical Examiner.
