Driver Killed After Truck Crashes Into Guardrail on 101 Freeway

At approximately 3:30am on March 4th, 2026, California Highway Patrol and Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded to a fatal traffic collision on northbound US-101 at the Interstate 405 interchange in Sherman Oaks.

Authorities reported a truck crashed into a guardrail, causing the driver to be ejected from the vehicle. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office was notified and responded to the location.

A SigAlert was issued as multiple lanes were closed for investigation and cleanup. At one point, only one lane remained open on northbound US-101, along with limited access from the 101 onto the northbound and southbound 405.

Traffic was heavily impacted through the early morning hours as crews worked to remove debris and repair guardrail damage.

No additional details were immediately released as the investigation remained ongoing.
