Driver Killed After Tesla Rolls Into Tree In Spring

At approximately 3:40 a.m. on May 10, 2026, deputies responded to a crash involving a Tesla along Lexington Road in the Spring area north of Houston.

Investigators say the driver was traveling at a high rate of speed when he failed to negotiate a curve, causing the vehicle to leave the roadway, roll over multiple times through a ditch, and crash into a tree.

The impact caused the airbags to deploy, and emergency crews used the Jaws of Life to remove the driver after the vehicle’s electric doors would not open.

The driver was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

Authorities have not confirmed whether the Tesla’s self-driving features were active at the time of the crash.

The investigation remains ongoing.

This package includes sound from investigators at the scene.
