Driver Killed After Slamming Into Semi in Riverside

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – On February 27, 2026, at approximately 5:06 AM, CHP Riverside units
responded to a call of a crash involving two vehicles, a 2010 Ford Ranger and a 2024
Freightliner Cascadia, on southbound Interstate 215, north of Central Avenue. The
preliminary investigation revealed the driver of the Ford was traveling southbound on
Interstate 215 in the #4 lane and approaching the Freightliner. For reasons still under
investigation, the driver of the Ford rear ended the Freightliner. The driver of the Ford was
pronounced deceased on scene by fire personnel.Officer D. Bilinski is the investigating officer. This is an active investigation and any
witnesses who may have observed the incident are encouraged to call the California
