Driver Killed After Slamming into Back of USPS Trailer Causing Fire

INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 05-20-25 2:49 am
LOCATION: NB 15 South Of SR 76
AREA/CITY: Fallbrook
DETAILS:

1. At around 2:49 AM reports of a vehicle versus semi crash came out in northbound lanes of the 15 south of SR76
2. additional calls came in reporting the vehicle was beginning to catch fire and was under the trailer.
3. First responders arrived on scene and located a fully involved vehicle under the rear of a USPS trailer.
4. The driver of the vehicle was pronounced deceased on scene, and the fire was extinguished.
5. The cause of the crash is unknown at this time, but is under investigation by CHP.
6. Traffic is affected at this time as the investigation continues.
