DETAILS:
- A fatal accident involving an older Corvette and an 18-wheeler.
- One male was pronounced deceased at the scene. He was inside the Corvette at the time of the crash.
- The driver of the 18-wheeler, a female, sustained neck and back pain but is expected to recover.
- Witnesses reported that the Corvette was traveling at a high speed.
- The Corvette failed to avoid the 18-wheeler, crashing into its rear before colliding with the center median divider wall, where it came to a stop.
- A minor fire started upon impact, which nearby citizens attempted to extinguish. The fire was not severe, and the fatality is currently believed to have been caused by the impact.
