Driver Killed After Car Slams Into Tree On 10 Freeway

A driver was killed after a vehicle crashed into a tree along the 10 Freeway early Sunday morning in Redlands.
CHP, Redlands Fire, ConFire EMS and Yucaipa Fire responded around 2:25 a.m. on October 4, 2026, to the eastbound 10 Freeway east of Wabash Avenue following reports of a solo-vehicle collision.
A private ambulance arrived at the scene first and located the driver unresponsive. Life-saving measures were performed, but the driver was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene.
The impact caused significant damage and split the tree open, leaving the crashed vehicle near the tree along the freeway.
No information regarding the driver’s identity was immediately available.
CHP is investigating what caused the vehicle to leave the roadway and crash. No additional details were provided at the scene.
