Driver Killed After Car Slams Into Palm Tree In Riverside

A driver was killed after a vehicle slammed into a palm tree Wednesday morning in Riverside.

At approximately 10:12 a.m. on August 12, 2026, firefighters responded to the 5000 block of Tequesquite Avenue following reports of a vehicle into a tree with the driver trapped.

Emergency crews arrived to find a vehicle with major damage after it had crashed into a palm tree. The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The circumstances leading up to the collision remain under investigation. It was not immediately known whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.

Palm Avenue was closed between Peony Court and Tequesquite Drive while investigators worked at the scene.
