Driver Flees After Deadly Pedestrian Crash Near 110 Freeway

At approximately 10:15 p.m. on January 19th, 2026, officers with the Los Angeles Police Department and firefighters responded to a fatal vehicle versus pedestrian collision at the intersection of 111th Place and Olive Street in South Los Angeles.
First responders located a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle and pronounced deceased at the scene. Authorities stated the driver involved did not stop and fled prior to officers’ arrival.
A canopy was observed near the scene as investigators worked to gather evidence. As a result of the collision, Olive Street and the northbound 110 Freeway on-ramp were shut down while the investigation took place.
The incident remained under investigation by LAPD.
