Driver Extricated After Semi Truck Crash In Houston
A major crash involving a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle shut down part of Beltway 8 late Friday night in Houston.
At approximately 11:45 p.m. on July 18, 2026, Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a collision on Beltway 8 near Kirby Drive.
The crash involved a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle that sustained significant damage. According to radio traffic, the driver of the passenger vehicle had to be extricated by emergency crews before being transported to a local hospital. Authorities said the driver’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
During the incident, a Ford Mustang entered the active crash scene. Deputies and a tow truck operator attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver drove away before being detained.
The circumstances surrounding the secondary incident remain unclear.
