Driver Dead After Fiery Crash | San Diego

LOCATION: Santo Rd & Shields Pl.

DETAILS:

1. Firefighters responded to a call of a vehicle fire in the center diver of Santo Rd and found a Mercedes that had crashed into a pine tree and was fully involved.
2. After putting out the fire, a body was discovered still inside and the person was deceased.
3. The car was going southbound on Santo Rd when the driver lost control and went head-on into the tree.
4. Debris flew over 50 yards away down the street.
5. Santo Rd is closed from Shields Pl to Tierrasanta Blvd. for the investigation.
